Granville High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school located in Granville, Ohio. It is accredited by the State of Ohio Department of Education. GHS is a member of the Mid-State Athletic League.

On Friday, October 15, 1999 The Wall Street Journal identified GHS as one of the ten best public high schools in the nation based on SAT, achievement tests, and standardized test scores. Granville High School has also been recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School, and the district met all 27 standards of the Ohio State Report Card.

Granville High is continuously the best school in Licking county (Public or Private). In 2010, GHS was also named the number one high school education in central Ohio based on the Performance Index Rating beating out Upper Arlington, Bexley, and New Albany.

Clubs and activities

Granville's Latin Club functions as a local chapter of both the Ohio Junior Classical League (OJCL)[2] and National Junior Classical League (NJCL).[3]

Granville's Chamber Choir has received Outstanding and Superior marks at the sectional, regional, and state levels of the Ohio Music Education Association's (OMEA) annual competitions. The choir is under the direction of Paul Jackson. Jackson also directs GHS's Women's Chorus, Men's Chorus, Freshmen Girls, and ACE Singing Ensemble, all of which are considered Outstanding by the OMEA.

Granville's Drama Department is run by Sara Sharp and Stefanie Stanton. The group holds three productions annually; two straight plays, and a spring musical. Tim Stanton runs the tech crew.

Granville also has a number of honor societies including National Honors Society, French Honor Society, Latin Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, the International Thespian Society, and a chapter of the Cum Laude Society.
